Sées cathedral, built from the 13th to 14th centuries and crowned with slim, graceful spires, is a masterpiece of Norman Gothic art. Fans of built heritage should make a point of admiring the chancel, a true architectural marvel, the transept and stunning old stained-glass windows.
Close to the cathedral, housed in the old canonry, is the département's religious art museum (Musée Départemental d'Art Religieux), which is interesting for its fine collection of sacred art dating from the Middles Ages to today.
From July to mid-September, sound and light shows (Les Musilumières) are staged in the cathedral every Friday and Saturday evening.
