The municipality of Santa-Maria-di-Lota covers the north shore of Miomu, stream flowing cervical Saint-Jean. It includes several former villages:

Mandriale, the highest of the town, which houses a Genoese bridge saddle dated 17th century and the Church of the Assumption of the 16th century.

Figarella, which has the highest concentration of "American houses" of the 19th century, one of the few castles Corsican.

Events and festivities

The festival takes place August 15 (St. Mary). In addition, many ceremonies are in Holy Week. Holy Thursday is dedicated to making fùgacce (cakes) and the next day, Good Friday, a procession goes around the Pieve di Lota with religious objects made in palms. A firework is fired Miomo.
