Common Brittany of nearly 3,000 inhabitants, Saint-Yvi takes place in the department of Finistère, about fifteen kilometers from Quimper. Crossed by the Jet, a local river, it is not far from Concarneau, another great tourist town of the region.
Populated since Antiquity, the commune of Saint-Yvi originally developed around a monastery, before becoming an important village of the fief of the Viscounts of Rohan, Pontivy. With a railway line at the beginning of the 20th century, it experienced a major boom before taking the face that is known to it today.
