Located in the municipality of Saint-Vincent-le-Paluel, in the Dordogne, the castle Paluel is in the Black Perigord, on a promontory overlooking the Creek Enea. Listed in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments, the site was completely destroyed in June 1944 by a fire aroused by the German troops.
Passed from hands to hands over the years, the Château de Paluel was auctioned in 2017 and bought by a restaurant owner in the region. Completely cleaned, the site hosted in 1968 the shooting of the film The Tattoo with actors Louis de Funès and Jean Gabin.
The site still consists today of a main building surrounded by two corner towers and a rectangular dungeon of the twelfth century. The set has retained its machicolation and is surrounded by a wall of curtain wall.
