Township of Beauvoir-sur-Mer from which it is 7 km. This commune in retro littoral, extends on 1 649 ha of which half is in ground of marsh. Located between Challans and the Côte de Monts equidistant (12 km, about 10 minutes), its geographical position has favored its development with a galloping population in recent years; 650 inhabitants in 1995 and about 1800 today, to which is added in summer days a summer population in the some 120 secondary houses scattered on the town and the campground, near the recreation area. A population that chooses the calm of a small town while being close to the sea.
For economic activities, agriculture remains very active with mainly livestock, shops are mainly food: bakery, food-coffee-press and services that are very present with: a hairdresser, many companies building and public works, not forgetting a well-known art ironwork.
