Saint-Sulpice, a country house in the Pays de Cocagne.

Bastide from the 13th century Albigensian, Saint-Sulpice is ideally located 30 km from Toulouse and Albi the rose red.

At the door of the Tarn and the Pays de Cocagne, offers a peaceful and welcoming visitors curious history.

Bastide founded in 1247 by Sicard of Alaman, Councillor Raymond VII, at the confluence of the Tarn and Agout Saint-Sulpice has a rich historical past.

Attraction of Castela : Located on the edge of Agout, the remains of the castle on motte still show the importance of the city 's medieval past with the most remarkable and rare underground shelter dug during the time of the motte castles, here we talk about life before the castles...

Castle: Raised on a motte, still visible today, built by Sicard of Alaman around 1240, the castle served as housing Bayle and consuls of the city. Destroyed during the wars of religion, we see from afar the ruins of the chapel built in 1275 and some of the ramparts of wall.

The medieval underground : Open to visitors all year round! Please inquire at the Tourist Office. Unique in all Midi- Pyrenees, this underground shelter built is in an exceptional state of preservation. Dug at the peak of iron in the castle mound beneath the castle, 142 meters long, galleries vaults are still perfect. We discover living rooms, silos, improved water, lamps niches... Also there will tell you the story of the Duchess of Berry, Jeanne de Boulogne, who took refuge there in the year 1418 for the making of counterfeit money... and discover the whole new light... thrills !

The loft, located next to the Tourist Office, remarkably restored, remains one of the key buildings in the country house.

The dungeon tower : The church work began under the lordship of Gaston Phoebus in 1381. It is one of the highest (about 40 m) and most beautiful bell tower of the Tarn.

The bridge of Rustan : This is one of the oldest remnants of the Bastide, former gateway to the city, this arched bridge is remarkable and dates from the 13th century.

The suspension bridge : Built in 1848, this magnificent work was restored in 2000 and today remains one of the famous monuments of the country house.

The heritage area of the Tourist Office : In the offices of the Tourist Office are exposed many tools evoking traditional trades : carpentry, carpenter, blacksmith, arçonnerie... We also see a beautiful collection of old photographs, a space dedicated to the poet Armand Guibert and 9th RCP.
