Saint-Paul-lès-Durance

Walking through the streets of this small village, it is possible to admire the beautiful St. Michael's Church and the castle interesting Cadarache. The latter, dating from the fifteenth century, has been listed historical monument. He has an older and well restored dungeon.

Note that Saint-Paul-lès-Durance is also crossed by the great GR 99 hiking trail that connects Saint-Martin-de-Pallières the Verdon Gorge.

Reserve Cadarache, charming small zoo is located near the village. Not far from the forest of Cadarache is the site of several outdoor activities such as hiking trails or mountain biking.

In the village, one can discover a necropolis of the Grande Bastide, the remains of a Roman villa, or the municipality that takes place in a former stronghold of the eighteenth century. The old stables of the house have been restored and are now used as hall.

To Cadarache, one can admire the remains of a former Templar hospice, while the forest welcomes ovens remains once used to make oil of cade.

On the Durance, savvy tourists will notice the traces of an ancient port facility that once served as a warehouse for the jars.
