Over sixteen meters high, the church of Saint-Pargoire, in the Hérault, was erected before the 9th century, but has undergone many transformations since then. Classified as Historical Monuments, the current Gothic building probably dates from the 13th or 14th century.
Unveiling a fairly simple architectural plan, the church of Saint-Pargoire has a nave with six spans separated by doubleaux, as well as a heptagonal apse. Equipped with a bell tower whose base is a 16th century porch with decorated capitals representing the four elements, it also has magnificent 19th century stained glass windows inside. Above the old portal, visitors can see a Christ over 8 meters high watching over the building.
