Station village near Megeve, on the sunny side of the High Val d'Arly between the Aravis and Beaufortain.

Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle is a mountain village that has retained its authenticity and is located opposite the Mont Blanc and at the foot of Mont Charvin. The village has two churches, one in central Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle and the other in the hamlet of Chaucisse.
The village church dates from the early fourteenth century. It has an onion dome, double lantern with a slender arrow. Its facade is decorated with a typically baroque portal, surmounted by a niche with the statue of St Nicolas and the three children from the salting (according to legend, St Nicolas would have risen three small children put in a salting).
The Church of Chaucisse built in 1818, first had the title of chapel. It is elevated to church in 1828. Chaucisse is a hamlet worth a look, with beautiful renovated farmhouses and pretty houses. It is also a base for exciting excursions, discovering the massifs.
Saint-Nicolas is also farms with sales and cheese tasting at the farm, beautiful landscapes, a land of history and flavors.
