Bridge of Saint-Nazaire

Monument in Saint-Nazaire

This structure, completed in 1975, spans the Loire Estuary. It is one of the largest cable-stayed bridges in Europe: it rises 61 meters above the river and stretches over 3,356 meters between Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Brévin. It replaces the old ferries which made it possible to cross the Loire and of which one can still see, on both banks, the remains of the pier.
