Located in the heart of the Gironde, the Saint-Médard church of Saint-Médard-en-Jalles was built in the 11th century before being significantly altered in the 15th and then in the 19th century. From the original building, visitors can discover an apse which is now listed as a Historic Monument.
Romanesque in style, the church is astonishing with its very asymmetrical architecture, revealing a Neo-Romanesque portal from the Second Empire, two adjoining naves or even very beautiful stained-glass windows representing Saint Thérèse d'Avila, Saint Cecilia or Saint Joan of Arc.
