Formerly a priory of the Order of St. Benedict was the territory of this parish who was until Crempse at the location of the City Hall Musselburgh. Bertrand de Goth, archbishop of Bordeaux, who became pope under the name of Clement V, visited it in 1304 from the church, built in the 12th century, leaving only the base of the front, the rest comes from restorations. The square tower dates from the 17th century.
Since 2000, the industrial zone of Mauries is rapidly expanding with the opening of supermarkets and many traders from Musselburgh locate there.
