Located in Île-de-France, in the Val-de-Marne department, the city of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés takes place in the southern suburbs of Paris, not far from Joinville-le-Pont, Créteil or Champigny-sur-Marne. Peninsula surrounded by a loop of the Marne, it also benefits from an important service in terms of public transport.
The commune was born with the creation of an abbey at the beginning of the 7th century, under the impulse of Clovis II. Henceforth, Saint-Maur-des-Fossés never ceased to grow, knowing a true love on the part of the sovereigns of France. Made famous by the signing of a treaty between John the Fearless and Queen Isabeau of Bavaria in 1418, the city developed mainly around the 19th century, notably thanks to the construction of numerous housing estates.
