Saint-Martin-en-Bresse

The church, originally built in the twelfth century, was completely rebuilt in the nineteenth century. It has a particularly beautiful spire of the time, and the whole was classified as an historic monument. Inside, decorative objects do not lack charm, as Charity of St. Martin and Christ and the adulteress, two classified tables, or the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist, painted wooden sculpture late eighteenth century.

We can also admire the chapel of Bellefond, XIV century building, the only remains of the old fortress that once stood proudly and which remain some ruins. A new castle was built in the nineteenth century. The chapel, red brick, presents twelve lanterns representing the apostles.

Some homes are worth visiting, like the house of Moon, an old house that once served to the poor, or the mansion Overseas Cosne. Rebuilt in the seventeenth century, this property reveals two heavy square towers and a brick outbuilding building.

The house of the forest and the grove is a branch of the museum of the Bresse. In the old school, it presents collections of wood crafts, several species from the forest or the Bresse reconstructions of workshops.

Open to all, the pond Colnand is ideal for walks, picnics or parties of petanque. It is also possible to learn about fishing.

The market is held every Wednesday morning.

The festival's Here and Elsewhere, turned to the documentary film, held every year between March and April. It offers meetings and screenings.

In early June, up to the employer of the town party with an outdoor dining and various animations.
