Saint-Martin-de-Valamas

Built between the eleventh and thirteenth centuries, the castle of Rochebonne was originally built on a rocky outcrop overlooking the valley of Eyrieux. Today in ruins, though the site reveals an amazing view of the mountains of the Ardèche and to discover a beautiful waterfall.

Walking through the old town, be sure to take the rue des Puces which was the main road until the late nineteenth century. This amount laces path is lined with beautiful stone houses. There also remains some vestiges of the old priory in the form of a tower built in the eleventh century and it is also possible to admire the village church.

Be sure not to go to the town of lake to enjoy sunny days. The site offers a supervised swimming in the summer.
