Located in Verdon Regional Nature Park (Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon), on Valensole plateau, the Provençal village of Saint-Martin-de-Brômes forms a beautiful picture with its old houses nestled around the foot of the clock tower – a 14th-century keep now housing a Gallo-Romanesque museum. Next to the tower stands the Romanesque Saint-Martin church dating from the 12th century. Below, walkers will find narrow streets and little squares full of charm.
The common Saint-Martin-de-Brômes is located in the southern department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Valensole plateau, about 70 km northeast of Aix-en-Provence and 5 km east of Gréoux-les-Bains, in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon.
Built like an amphitheater on the hillside of Castelleras the old provençal village of Saint-Martin-de-Brômes dominated by the clock tower and the parish church is located at an altitude of 360 meters. The village was settled in medieval times on a small hill on the right bank of Colostre.
The villagers called the St. Martin people.
