The ski resort of Val Thorens is located in the town of Belleville, in Savoie, 38 km south of Moûtiers by road.
Inaugurated in 1971, Val Thorens is known as the highest resort in Europe, the semi-pedestrian village culminating at 2280 m altitude and the slopes at 3230 m.
In the Vanoise massif, in the upper valley of the Tarentaise, the resort has 85 tracks (11 green, 35 blue, 30 red and 9 black) totaling 150 km downhill. The area is served by 30 lifts.
Val Thorens also has spaces dedicated to free style and a snowpark. Ski touring and off-piste skiing are also possible, with accompanying guides.

Lastly, the Val Thorens ski area is connected to Les Menuires, Méribel and Courchevel, within the Three Valleys, offering a potential set of 318 pistes (600 km).
Known to families as experienced skiers, the resort has also become famous for its varied activities offered in summer: paragliding, rafting, climbing, hiking in a preserved natural setting.
