Located Saint-Lizier in the department of Ariege, the museum of the Bishops Palace was used in the seventeenth century, at the time of construction, Episcopal Palace. Listed historic monument, it has benefited from a significant restoration campaign that allowed its reopening to the public in 2011.
Visitors can discover the history of the palace, the Gallo-Roman to modern times, including through a rich collection of amphorae, vases, funeral urns, religious art, of objects of daily life or sarcophagi. The site offers a nice museum, including a touch-room, a storytelling or a room of scenery to admire the stunning views.
In addition to the museum, it is also possible to visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of Sède that reveals a beautiful set of painted sixteenth century and a bathroom thematic exhibitions.
