Located in the heart of the Drôme, about forty kilometers from Valence, the small town of Saint-Laurent-en-Royans is crossed by the 45th parallel north. It takes place about thirty kilometers from Romans-sur-Isère, not far from Saint-Thomas-en-Royans, Echevis or La Chapelle-en-Vercors.
Occupied since Antiquity, as evidenced by the Gallo-Roman remains found on site, the town of Saint-Laurent-en-Royans became the possession of the Viennese dolphins at the start of the Middle Ages, then of the bishops of Die in the 13th century. Today mainly oriented towards agriculture, in particular with the breeding of cattle and sheep or the presence of orchards, it is also classified as a summer health resort.
Tourists passing through the region will appreciate the particular charm of Saint-Laurent-en-Royans, as well as its architectural heritage.
