Former residence of the lords of Saint-Jean, the castle of Saint-Jean-du-Gard originally dates from the 13th century. Entirely burnt down by the royal troops, it was rebuilt in the 16th century, then enlarged in the 17th century.
Renaissance style, which has notably had the honor of welcoming great names in history such as the Duke of Noailles, the Duke of Rohan or the Marshal de Villars, is now only open for exhibitions or cultural events organized by its current owners.
