Saint-Jean-de-la-Rivière

The large beach of Saint-Jean-de-la-Rivière extends from Barneville to Portbail, allowing the relaxation and practice of different water sports. About ten kilometers away, you will enjoy a large dune cordon and a view of the Jersey Channel Island. Since the early 1990s, it has also been awarded the Blue Flag label for its water quality and infrastructure. Not far from here, the Côte des Isles golf course offers an opportunity to practice while admiring the view of the sea.

As you walk through the town, do not miss the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, which was completely redone in the 17th century. One can still admire there remains of Romanesque elements as well as a very beautiful painting of the Baptism of Christ classified to the Historical Monuments.

The town also has a windmill with an orientation table to locate the most beautiful sites in the area.

For a short walk, head towards the dunes of Saint-Jean-de-la-Rivière in order to admire the local fauna and flora. Preserved, the site also offers a beautiful view of the Channel Sea.

Several hiking, cycling or horseback trails have been marked to enjoy the landscape. The town also has a tennis court and pétanque courts for entertaining between two walks.

The patronal festival takes place in June with various activities.

A petanque competition is organized on 14 July and 15 August.

During the summer, the village offers several concerts in several sites.
