Common located between Lake Annecy and Lake Bourget, Savoie, Entrelacs is bordering the department of Haute-Savoie, and takes place about thirty kilometers from Chambery. She was born in September 2015 from the grouping of the six communes of Albens, Cessens, Epersy, Mognard, Saint-Germain-la-Chambotte and Saint-Girod.
Populated for centuries, the territory of Entrelacs attracts visitors mainly for its unique and preserved natural setting. Ideal for relaxing and enjoying life in the great outdoors, the Savoyard town also has an interesting architectural and historical heritage testifying to a rich and hectic past.
Close to some of the most beautiful sights of the region, the city of Entrelacs is the perfect place to spend holidays in the heart of Savoy.
While browsing the old town of Albens, you can discover the old church Notre-Dame-of-All-Power-d'Ansigny of XVIe century, the church Saint-Alban financed in part by the Empress Eugénie, the chapel of the Sacred Heart, the castle Emonet, the fortified house of Orlyé, or Roman sites and megaliths. You will also find on site a mill, a former wash house, a museum on the town, or old bread ovens. For walks, direction the ponds of Crosagny, Braille, or the discovery trail. Near the first, you will find a health trail in the middle of the marshes.
Several castles take place on the town of Cessens, that of Cessens-Vieux, or Tour de César, castle of the twelfth century now in ruins, and that of Cessens-Neuf, former castle of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, also in ruins. The natural heritage also deserves a stop, with notably the Sapenay pass, the Chambotte massif, or the view of Lake Bourget. The church Saint-Laurent, built in the middle of the eighteenth century, has a beautiful bell-tower with a bulb and a bell classified Historical Monuments.
Do not miss the Saint-Maurice d'Epersy church, a neo-Gothic building built in the second half of the 19th century.
Mognard also has a church of the same period and style, as well as an old fortified house.
The cliffs of Chambotte are known for being a climbing practice site. The town also has several hiking and biking trails.
Do not miss Saint-Girod the miraculous fountain Saint-Lazare and the church of the nineteenth century.
A flea market is proposed in June. A lively Christmas market is also organized in late November or early December.
Every year in May, Saint-Germain-la-Chambotte organizes the Chambottine, two trail nature races, as well as a gourmet walk with local products.
A painting exhibition takes place each year in June at the Crosagny pond.
The election of Rosière is organized every year in June with a coronation and a torchlight retreat.
At the end of July, place at the round of furnaces with tastings on the spot.
The festival of the village of Cessens takes place every 1st of August.
Every year in autumn, the Chestnut Walk is a family-friendly rally with chestnuts followed by a festive meal.
The Nocturne des Teppes, a pedestrian night race, is organized in November.
