An emblematic cultural site of the Ain department, the site-museum is located at the gates of Lyon, Switzerland and Burgundy, between Bourg-en-Bresse and Mâcon.
Located on a former agricultural estate, it includes a Bresse farm classified as a Historic Monument and a museum that will allow you to discover a rich heritage where gastronomy plays an important role. Its collections reveal a gourmet land where the art of eating well has always been combined with a tradition of quality products, including the famous Bresse poultry of international renown.
The visit to the Planons farm is the highlight of the visit. Remarkable witness to Bresse architecture, it was listed as a historical monument in 1938. Spacious courtyard, vast outbuildings, galleries punctuated by arcades and a Saracen fireplace make it unique. An interior reconstruction of the dwelling house takes the visitor back to 1784, to the life of a peasant family.
On the estate, the famous blue-legged Bresse chicken reigns supreme in the open-air rearing areas, while the giant games and the picnic area under the hundred-year-old oaks invite you to stroll. Themed boutique-bookstore and snack area.
