Municipality located between Romans and Vienne, in the Drôme, Saint-Barthélemy-de-Vals takes place at about thirty kilometers from Valence, not far from Ponsas and Marsaz.
The territory of Saint-Barthélemy-de-Vals has been occupied since the Neolithic, and was once, according to local legend, a place of refuge for fairies and Druidic ceremonies. However, it is necessary to wait for the Gallo-Roman period so that the commune is really structured. Strongly hit by religious wars through heavy looting, it developed in the nineteenth century with the arrival of the railway.
