The Manor of La Ranloue is located in the town of Saint-Barthélemy-d'Anjou, in the department of Maine-et-Loire, a few kilometers east of Angers.
This is a group of dwellings from different periods, built from the 16th to the 18th century, aligned and adjoining one another.
The lower parts are the oldest, with small openings, and in the 18th century large pavilions were added to the south.
The first rooms of the 16th century have a simple layout, but the upstairs bedrooms are accessed via a staircase whose steps are in schist. In the 17th century, a building with a kitchen and pantry and a Mansard-style roof was added. The two 18th century pavilions, in neo-classical style, are accessible by stairs located in the interior dwellings. A farmhouse intended for a farmer completed this noble-looking but heterogeneous estate.
Property of merchants, doctors or bourgeois over the centuries, the manor acquired by the municipality in the 20th century was converted into a media library at the beginning of the 21st century. Listed in the Inventory, its rich heritage has been preserved. It is connected to the new buildings by a glazed passageway.
Old fireplaces and a period oven have also been preserved.
Finally, part of the gardens of the old manor is open to the public. It is easy to admire the old manor (interior and exterior) with its unique history and architecture and perfectly restored.
