The Saint-Agrève is located between the upper valley of the Doux Valley Eyrieux and the plateau of Upper Lignon. Pride of St. Agrévois, Mount Chiniac culminates at 1128 m. It dominates the present town and its summit offers a remarkable panorama circular. If a clear day you can see the Alps from Mont Blanc to Mont Ventoux, probably more open to view the volcanic juices, south west, barring the horizon. Thus, from left to right successive away: Mount Gerbier de Rushes to 1551 m, Suc Sara to 1520 m, 1753 m in the Mezen. Then come the Alambre to 1691 m, 1455 m to the Signon and the Pic du Lizieux to 1386 m. On this height of Mount Chiniac born the village of Saint-Agrève. At the top of the hill stood the castle whose remains are now rare trees buried under the beautiful park of Claviere.
