Built at the beginning of the 20th century, the Tanagra villa, at Royan, is the only Belle Époque residence in the city to be listed as a Historic Monument. It had the chance to escape the bombings of 1945, still revealing to passing visitors the charm of its architecture.
Designed from a simple rectangular plan integrating a corner treated in a quarter-round, it was entirely built in ashlar limestone. Villa Tanagra also unveils some beautiful elements of the neo-Louis XVI style, like the so-called Italian roof.
Inside, the presence of many glass doors with colorful and picturesque filters allow light to enter for a unique atmosphere in the time.
