Its unique collection crosses continents and follows in the footsteps of men and women who have worn them. Egyptian sandals to the basketball court, pints from the Renaissance to stilettos, shoes reveal who we are. Discrete or extravagant fashion accessories and everyday objects, they express the creativity and expertise of manufacturers of yesterday and today.
- An exceptional setting: The museum is housed in an exceptional historic setting, a former convent of the Visitation, built from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century, decorated with French gardens, registered under the Historic Monuments.
- Modern and contemporary footwear: A new scenography dedicated to modern and contemporary shoe awaits you in two rooms of the permanent exhibition. These shoes worn our shoes dreamed, the course explores the personal tastes and influences that have passed through the twentieth century until today.
- The shoe in Romans, a touchy story: Housed in Romans, a city that owes its fame to the leatherwork and footwear, the museum evokes the memory of this industry while echoing the news local businesses and the french know-how.
