Common new Calvados, Normandy region, Castine-en-Plaine takes place about twenty kilometers from Caen and its ducal castle, near Bourguébus Ifsm and Soliers. She was born on January 1, 2019 from the merger of Rocquancourt, Tilly-la-Campagne and Hubert-Folie.

Populated for centuries, as evidenced by the remains found there Gallic in road improvements, the territory of Castine-en-Plaine developed in the course of the Middle Ages. Primarily agricultural due to the fertility of its lands, he also achieved strong mining in the twentieth century because of the strong presence of iron ore in the ground.

Things to see and do

Listed historical monument, the Church of Our Lady of Hubert-Folie was built between the twelfth and thirteenth century. Originally governed by the Abbaye aux Hommes Caen, it has a beautiful Romanesque choir with buttresses, an altarpiece of the seventeenth century frescoes or shaped device. Be sure not to borrow the avenue of lime trees of the castle, a listed site today.

Originally the eighteenth century, the Saint-Denis of Tilly-la-Campagne was rebuilt in the early 1960s following the horrors of World War II.

Built in the twelfth century, the Saint Martin church Rocquancourt worth a stop with its steeple stone of the early twentieth century.
