Charming little village in the Drôme, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Roche-Saint-Secret-Béconne takes place near the Lance mountain, south of the Pays de Dieulefit-Bourdeaux. It is located not far from Montbrison-sur-Lez, Taulignan and Montjoux, at the gates of Provence.
Inhabited since the Bronze Age, the territory of Roche-Saint-Secret-Béconne formed in the Middle Ages a land composed of two seigniories: that of the barony of Mévouillon and that of the county of Valentinois. Strongly affected by the Wars of Religion, it was a high Catholic stronghold, the town was really born in the form we know it at the end of the 18th century, following the events of the French Revolution.
Today mainly focused on agriculture and viticulture, the commune of Roche-Saint-Secret-Béconne is particularly known for its pastures, its production of Coteaux du Tricatin AOC, its production of essence of lavandin or its olive trees.
