The village is located about 3 km from the capital of Canton. Ramecourt is a small rural village in the Vosges, lulled by the rill of Val d'Arol. It offers anglers the joys of trout fishing and for the rest of the family fun of its banks exposed to the sun. Orchards, parks for grazing, hedges and shrubbery provide a pleasant green and quiet countryside. Everything is conducive to the itinerary to discover the flora, fauna and surrounding villages. Valley floor, hillsides (the coast and Bulgnéville sector Top Ramecourt), wood and undergrowth; landscapes are many and varied.
It is claimed that the original village dates back to the time of Roman colonization. The village was formed at the cross roads connecting to Mirecourt and Neufchâteau Ravenelle to Poussay. The frame was concentrated along the current department. It is certain that the place was busy with the Merovingian. A Merovingian cemetery contains many graves and many artifacts were discovered. The discoveries made by Mr. Burg are currently visible in the museum in Epinal and Nancy.
The morphology of the village has changed little in two centuries. However the emergence of new homes makes a lot of change. They do not respect the traditional typology of houses Lorraine.
