Bourg de Bretagne, in the department of Morbihan, Quistinic takes place about fifty kilometers from Vannes, not far from Melrand, Languidic or Lanvaudan. Bordered by the Blavet, it is also lined with forest ridges.
Populated since the Iron Age, the historic region of Quistinic is part of the Vannes country. Old dependency of the seigniory of Kemenet-Heboe, the commune develops really in XIe century with the arrival of inhabitants of Burbry eager to settle on the spot.
Even today, Quistinic remains a high place of Breton tourism, allowing to discover a rich historical and architectural heritage, as well as authentic landscapes and worthy of the most beautiful sights of Brittany. The visitors remain seduced by the calm of the town, as well as by its particular charm.
Listed as a Historical Monument, Saint-Pierre Church dates from the second half of the 18th century. It is still today a high place of pilgrimage and great forgiveness that take place every second Sunday of May.
Built between the 15th and 16th centuries, the chapel of Locmaria is also listed as an historic monument. The most beautiful of the eight chapels of the town, it seduced by its four statues, stained glass and its architectural style of the most impressive.
In the woods, a few hundred meters from the castle of Villeneuve-Jacquelot, the chapel of Notre-Dame-du-Cloître is listed as an historic monument. Built in the first half of the seventeenth century, it reveals inside a beautiful paving granite and several statues.
Six other chapels take place on the town, like that of the Temple of the sixteenth century, Saint-Gwénolé of the sixteenth century, Sainte-Barbe of the late sixteenth, Saint-Mathurin with its bell tower of the eighteenth, Saint-Tugdual of the seventeenth century, or Saint-Roch of the eighteenth century.
Built around 1530, the castle of Villeneuve-Jacquelot, located nearby, is classified as an historic monument. Former seat of the lordship of Villeneuve, the current building dates from the seventeenth century. The only remnant of the period building is the square tower. Ravaged by the flames in 2013, the monument hosted the shooting of the movie Chouans!
Hamlet of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the village of Poul-Fétan has been completely restored with traditional materials. You can admire houses with thatched roof, a former wash house, hemp bins, or craftsmen showing their expertise of yesteryear.
Several ancient Calvaries take place on the town of Quistinic, as well as fountains of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
An autumn market with artisans is proposed in October.
Every early autumn is an opportunity to attend the cider festival.
A Christmas market is organized at the beginning of December.
