Located on the left bank of the Odet, at Quimper, the garden of the castle of Lanniron surrounds what was the residence of the bishops of Quimper for more than six centuries. This 19th century Palladian mansion is surrounded by French-style gardens of Italian inspiration created in the 17th century.
Descending in terraces on the Odet, the gardens of the castle of Lanniron also reveal to their visitors a very beautiful botanical collection of the XIXth century. If they have been largely restored, they still have to be reconstituted of several basins and an important statuary.
Stretching over nearly forty hectares, the park and gardens of Château de Lanniron are part of the Association des Parcs et Jardins de Bretagne. The park has been converted into an arboretum, offering plant species from all over the world such as hemp palms.
Listed in the supplementary inventory of Historical Monuments, the garden is an opportunity, in season, to admire colorful and fragrant flowers such as magnolias, azaleas or hydrangeas.
