Quessoy is a town of Cotes d'Armor in Brittany, 15 km southeast of Saint-Brieuc.
Its territory of 29 square kilometers is already occupied by men in prehistoric times, excavations have unearthed Neolithic tools.
The village's name appears in the Middle Ages, meaning "the middle of the woods." It was during this period that are implanted powerful and prosperous lordships who establish castles and boost agriculture (mills development).
Chouan stronghold during the Revolution, Quessoy remains the nineteenth and twentieth centuries a rural village but active (agriculture, crafts, trade) and whose population is booming some with their surroundings enjoyed especially Briochins.

On the religious level, we first note the St. Peter's church, built in 1840 on the site of an old manor chapel. It houses two frescoes of Raphael Donguy, from the mid-nineteenth century, an artist also author of the decoration of the diocese of Saint-Brieuc.
At the option of the hamlets and former strongholds, to then notice the chapel de la Houssaye, depending on the eponymous castle, which has preserved the fifteenth elements then was rebuilt in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and that of the Roche Rousse early seventeenth. One of Bogard dates from the sixteenth and was remodeled in the eighteenth century when the ownership of the Lords was acquired by a councilor of the Parliament of Brittany. The listed building now hosts receptions. Its park and esplanades devised according to the precepts of the Marquis de Girardin and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, however visitors in July, August and September, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning. See also, Castle Town Davy shaped pavilion of Italian style, erected around 1870. With a park, he became in 1950 an agricultural school. The castle de la Houssaye, partly classified, it was built for a president of the Parliament of Britain in the eighteenth century near a manor Renaissance XVI. The mansion of La Roche Rousse (XVI) moated, castle of Fontaine-Saint-Pere (XVIII) further complements this overview not to mention more distant testimonies: the proto site Grohan and dolmen Champ-Grosset.

In April, the odd years, the town organizes for over 40 years Quessoy Carnival festival that mobilizes hundreds of volunteers. And because the parade Sunday afternoon traditionally brings together more than 20 000 spectators!
From September to October, on Quessoy and neighboring municipalities, the Sounds of Autumn festival program concerts and theatrical performances as well as cabaret evenings or representations of circuses.
Finally, every Sunday morning, the market takes place of the Church and to discover the rich seafood or local region.
