Church Notre-Dame

Monument in Puichéric

Listed and classified as an historic monument, the monumental Notre-Dame church takes place in the heart of Puichéric, in the Aude department. Open Wednesdays and Thursdays in July and August, it houses a white marble statue of Notre-Dame de Beauvoir from the 18th century. A mass is celebrated there every year on August 15 to celebrate the Blessed Virgin.

Built in the 13th century, it underwent a major expansion a century later, revealing a square tower bell tower about thirty meters high with walls two meters thick. After having passed the magnificent 14th century portal, it is possible to discover the interior decoration, with in particular the frescoed painting of the bedside classified as Historical Monuments. Several statues take place in the various chapels, starting with that of the Blessed Virgin in the Notre-Dame chapel.
