Pouilly-en-Auxois

Former medieval fortress, with walls and castles, the city of Pouilly-en-Auxois still has some interesting architectural relics.

By going to La Capitainerie of the marina of Pouilly-en-Auxois, you can take a boat trip on the Burgundy Canal, and discover the interior of "La Voûte", 3333 m underground passing through the city. Built in 1775, it was formerly crossed by towers, river tugs, like the one that is concerned in the Halle du Toueur, in the marina. Guided and commented walks are offered from April to October to learn more about the history of the canal and its vault.

If you prefer nature walks, you will be delighted to be able to share it with your family thanks to the creative path "Dessine moi le canal de Bourgogne", a 3.5 km trail allowing you to discover and understand the different architectures of the canal Of Burgundy, while learning specific techniques of drawings. You can also take the height by visiting the Sentier de la Madonne, which will offer you magnificent views of the city of Pouilly while allowing you to discover the bocage bourguignon. Both trails are free and open all year round.

The Maison de Pays is home to an exhibition center for 110 local producers and artisans.

Ancient medieval square, Pouilly-en-Auxois is not lacking in life, especially thanks to its many markets organized all year round.

A group of producers takes place on the central square of Pouilly-en-Auxois, from 16h to 20h, every Friday. Mainly food, it is the opportunity to appreciate stalls of primeurs, cheesemakers or fishmongers, as well as regional products.

In the city center, a fair takes place every second Thursday morning of each month.

In July, Pouilly-en-Auxois organizes a very pleasant night market gathering artists and other artisans of the region to the sound of many animations of all kinds.
