Things to see and do

Some heritage sites should be mentioned in the town and its surroundings. This is the case of the Saint-Etienne parish church: a place of worship dependent on the chapter of Saint-Jean de Lyon is mentioned in the 10th century but the current building dates from the Romanesque period (12th century). It was partly rebuilt and enlarged in the 19th century. However, the choir and its apse have been preserved and "reassembled" identically. The Romanesque decorations are always to be admired.

In the Abbé-Deschaud park which neighbors the church, to see next, a 19th century dovecote conveniently preserved.

The two monuments to the dead of the world wars of the 20th century, the former girls' school built in 1895 now occupied by the Maison des Jeunes are also worth a look, as is the Cure mill, on the edge of the Veyle, a reflection of the agricultural prosperity of the commune or the fresco evoking Bressian life painted on the water tower which marks the entry into the village on the RD 1079, coming from Bourg-en-Bresse.

It is also worth mentioning the Domaine de la Distillerie, to the northwest, made up of a mansion, a traditional 19th century barn and a 3 hectare wooded park. Family receptions and seminars are hosted, with accommodation possible. Information on +33 6 36 19 94 37.

Furthermore, to the south-east of the town this time, the old Peloux farm houses the L'Anordinaire association which offers shows, workshops and activities as part of a ecological and supportive approach. Contact on +33 6 95 34 88 16.

Associative activities of creative leisure or dedicated to well-being are also scheduled at the social and cultural center of the municipality: contact +33 9 54 51 12 49.

Furthermore, at least one Wednesday a month, there is a cinema screening organized by a regional association: information on +33 4 74 60 42 31.

Finally, still on a cultural level, the media library regularly offers meetings, readings, exhibitions, etc. Contact on +33 4 74 25 74 96.

For sports, tennis courts are available, to be reserved with the local club on +33 6 75 47 90 18. The municipal sports complex also includes football fields. Find out more at the town hall on +33 4 74 30 40 21.

The course of the Veyle, to the south of the town, is suitable for fishing. Information on regulations and suitable sites from the local association on +33 4 74 45 24 62.

Finally, time for hikes (on foot or by mountain bike) which can include the banks of the Veyle dotted with mills, the marshes of Vial and their unique flora (to the south-east), the few small ponds which announce the Dombes or even the undergrowth in the south and north-east of the territory.

The Reinette circuit is thus marked (with two variants of 12 and 16 km), from the village.

Larger secure loops can also lead to the town of Bourg-en-Bresse or the Saône Valley, to the west.

During or after a walk, discovery breaks with possible tasting are welcome at the Pisciculture des sources de l'Etre located on 3 hectares and which includes 6000 m² of ponds (info on +33 4 74 24 20 14), at the Moulin Nicolas where a peasant miller produces 100% organic pasta, flour, lentils and oils (contact +33 6 15 04 51 49) or at the “Créadeline” workshop, which makes costume jewelry in aluminum wire (information on +33 6 67 23 74 72).
