Municipality of nearly 4,000 inhabitants, Plumergat takes place in Brittany, in the department of Morbihan. It is located in the canton of Auray, twenty-five kilometers from Vannes, and fifty kilometers from Lorient airport.
The Breton city, which is named after the Morgat hermitage founded by Saint Tergat, is one of the first parishes created in Brittany, well before the 11th century. However, it was not until 1790, following the horrors of the French Revolution, that it was erected into a full-fledged municipality. Very old, the site has also known a Celtic occupation of which there remains several vestiges today.
