Ploeuc-L'Hermitage

Built in the early sixteenth century, then modified in the seventeenth and eighteenth, the Church of Our Lady of Hermitage-Lorge presents a beautiful painting of the mid-nineteenth century Raphael Donguy, The Assumption.

You will also be able to admire in the commune the very beautiful castle of Lorge, an old seigniorial residence of the first half of the XVIII^e century now registered with the Historical Monuments. You can admire Mansart roofs, as well as granite facades with a very Breton simplicity. The main building is surrounded by two pavilions extended by terraces. Behind, a carved box garden dominates two imposing water mirrors.

With nearly 2,000 hectares, the Lorge forest is a paradise for hiking and nature lovers. Mecca of resistance during the Second World War, it was the scene of sad executions carried out by the Gestapo in 1944. Several mass graves were discovered, and today a memorial was erected on the area of ​​the Butte Red to honor the memory of all those shot.

In November, place to Ouïr'Lire festival, the first book festival in the department. For the occasion, the town offers readings, meetings with authors, dedications, or free workshops and concerts.
