Commune of nearly 4,000 inhabitants in the Var, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Pignans takes place about forty kilometers from Toulon, in the district of Brignoles. It is also located not far from Besse-sur-Issole, Puget-Ville or Carnoules.
Populated since prehistoric times, as evidenced by the fragments of flint found on site, the municipality of Pignans developed from the 6th century with the construction of its church. From the 18th century, the town owed its prosperity and fame to its factories of paper and copper utensils, as well as to its flour and oil mills. Today focused on agricultural activities, particularly with its wine cooperatives, it also attracts passing visitors wishing to immerse themselves in an authentic atmosphere.
