Built in the 14th century, Revel is a typical medieval fortified town situated in the heart of the Pays de Cocagne, the . Lined with galleries and with old houses, the main square of Revel possesses a beautiful covered market hall topped by a bell tower at its centre.

Saturdays mornings are lively with the magnificent traditional market taking place under the hall. This market rich in local products is among the hundred most beautiful markets in France. This should not be missed! In winter, duck and goose fairs (Foires au Gras) will delight fans of food products from south-west France.

Revel

The city of Revel was founded by the sovereign Philippe VI of Valois in 1342. This bastide is organized around a central square where the streets organized in a checkerboard converge. This square with polychrome brick, wood and stone galleries is a real showcase for a splendid medieval hall.

The 14th century hall is one of the largest in France. The hall measures 39 m sideways and is supported by 79 oak pillars. It is at the heart of the life of the people of Revélois, especially on Saturday mornings where one of the 100 most beautiful markets in France takes place.

On Saturday morning, this square becomes the center of attraction of the city with a market, ranked among the 100 most beautiful in France. Cabinetmaking is a Revéloise specialty that has been passed down from generation to generation. Since the installation of Alexandre Monoury in 1888, many cabinetmakers have created high-quality furniture in various styles: Louis XV, Art Deco, Empire, contemporary... Revel is a real breeding ground for artistic craftsmanship recognized by the City and Crafts label.

Lake Saint-Ferréol, the beach a stone's throw from Toulouse: Centerpiece of the brilliant device created in the 17th century by Pierre-Paul Riquet to supply water to the Canal du Midi and Lake Saint-Ferréol, classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is a tourist site to be visited in all seasons. With its 80 hectare park, its waterfalls, its spray of water and its shaded alleys, the site offers all the pleasures of swimming (supervised in summer), fishing, discovery of nature, as well as the practice of many sports: boats, windsurfing, paddle boarding, horse riding, hiking, mountain biking, climbing, caving, gliding...
