Charming town of over 4000 inhabitants, in the Bas-Rhin, in East Grand region Truchtersheim takes place about fifteen kilometers from Strasbourg and its cathedral. Located near Berstett Schnersheim and Quatzenheim, this new town was born on 1 January 2016 from the merger of Truchtersheim with Pfettisheim.
Inhabited since prehistoric times, as evidenced by the remains found on site during archaeological excavations in the territory of Truchtersheim was property of the Empire and the Bishop of Strasbourg in the thirteenth century. The municipality is experiencing significant growth at the end of the nineteenth century with the installation of a tramway which then connects with its famous neighbor, Strasbourg.
