Petit-Mars

Built in the second half of the 18th century, the Château du Pont-Hus then replaced an old medieval fortress from the 13th century erected by Hus de la Muse. Private property, today it can only be admired from the outside, just like the manor of Breil which once served as a defensive fort.

Built in the second half of the 19th century, the Saint-Pierre church succeeded the Notre-Dame de Patience chapel, which itself was extended in the 17th century. Not far away, you will be able to appreciate the 19th century Calvary dedicated to the Virgin or the grotto of Lourdes. Built in the 1950s, it features in particular an inscription stone dating from 3000 to 5000 BC

While strolling in the town and its surroundings, do not miss to admire the manor of the 16th century apple grove with in particular its Louis XIII style skylights, the 18th century Bouffetière manor and several old lodgings.

Petit-Mars also has several old 19th century mills such as those at Rochettes, La Bosse or Launay, to discover before going to admire the Tertre-Rouge fountain, once known to cure fevers.

Very old, the city also has several Gallo-Roman vestiges, such as the hemicycle of the Roman theater or the circular wall, the only vestige of the old racecourse.

A garage sale is offered in September.

In June, it's time for the Music Festival concerts and the famous Saint-Jean fires.
