Museum of popular traditions located in the heart of Ain, the Musée du Vieux Pérouges takes place in an old noble house in the medieval center of the city, offering its visitors collections of ancient objects, as well as access to the watchtower with its panoramic view, a medieval garden and a weaving workshop.
Founded in 1912 in a former property of the Dukes of Savoy, the Musée du Vieux Pérouges unveils to the curious old Bresse furniture, pewter, earthenware, tools and old archives. On site, it is also possible to admire a very fine collection of contemporary art, as well as an archaeological collection from local excavations, including a Merovingian tomb.
