The Palais des Congrès de Parthenay, in the Deux-Sèvres department, is located in the heart of the city and close to the train station.
On the outside, it has an architectural decor typical of the 1970s (concrete facade punctuated with openings in geometric shapes), when it was built.
Its vocation is then defined as follows: to host performances as well as conferences, professional seminars or association gatherings. It also houses the cultural action service, which aims to inform and support project leaders, particularly in the field of performing arts.
The Palais des Congrès includes, in addition to its reception hall equipped with Internet terminals, a large auditorium that can accommodate up to 900 spectators, an "Italian-style theater" style theater that can accommodate 300 people and finally a hall dedicated to exhibitions.
At the beginning of 2023, the municipality of Parthenay validated a rehabilitation project for the convention center. After work, the site will host by 2025 a cinema complex of four rooms with 70 to 200 seats, a multidisciplinary performance hall with 500 seats, an agora and the offices of the tourist office.
