Viaduct of Austerlitz

Monument in Paris

Railway bridge located above the Seine at Paris, the viaduct of Austerlitz is the work of the Eiffel company. Listed historical monument, it was built at the beginning of the twentieth century, and is 140 meters long.

Borrowed by line 5 of the Paris metro, the viaduct of Austerlitz connects Austerlitz station to the viaduct of the Quai de la Rapée. Its decoration is the work of Jean Camille Formigé and consists of various marine symbols with fish, tridents, and other oars. The weapons of Paris are also represented at the bottom of the arches.
