Building of the 6th district of Paris registered with the Historical Monuments, the private mansion of Vendome takes place at the corner of the boulevard Saint-Michel and the street Auguste-Comte. It is located at the back of the famous Luxembourg garden and was built at the beginning of the 18th century by the architect Jean-Baptiste Alexandre Le Blond.
Headquarters of Paris Tech Mines since 1815, it also houses the collections of the Museum of Mineralogy of Paris. It was enlarged during the 19th century, including the construction of the library and the decoration of the grand staircase by Hugard and Pujol.
