Leisure centre in Paris

Considered as one of the oldest museums in France, the Mineralogy Museum of the National School of Mines of Paris takes place in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, on boulevard Saint-Michel.

Created in 1794, just after the Louvre Museum, it has been located in the Vendôme hotel since 1815. It still has a large systematic collection and one of the largest collections of typical species.

The site has more than 100,000 samples, of which 4,000 are on display. The Museum of Mineralogy includes 700 gems, 300 meteorites and artificial minerals, and some gemstones from the Crown Jewels of France.
