Located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, in the heart of the Hôtel des Invalides, the Musée des Plans-Reliefs unveils a unique collection of relief plans: 1/600 scale models representing towns and fortified sites dating mainly from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, for strategic purposes.
Listed as a Historic Monument, the museum unveils a collection originally created in the second half of the 17th century by Louvois, then Louis XIV's Minister of War. Now located in the attic of the Invalides, the museum presents nearly 30 models, including relief maps of Antibes, Perpignan, Toulon, Mont-Saint-Michel and Belle-Île-en-Mer.
A second space has been set up to present the history of this exceptional collection and the manufacturing techniques of the works present.
Guided tours and workshops for adults and young people (families, birthdays, schoolchildren) are organized throughout the year.
