House Trouard

Monument in Paris

Private house of the 9th district of Paris, the house Trouard takes place at 9 rue du Faubourg-Poissonnière. Listed as a Historical Monument in the late 1920s, it was built in the mid-eighteenth century by Louis-François Trouard, then king marble sculptor.

The building reflects a deep break with the Louis XV style and reveals the first effects of the Greek or neo-classical style. One can thus admire on the facade a very beautiful frieze of frescoes.
